At Waterbird Gypsy Cobs, our passion is breeding beautiful, versatile riding horses that combine the renowned temperament, strength, and charm of the Traditional Irish Cob. What began as a love for horses has grown into a dedicated breeding program focused on producing quality horses with excellent trainability, athleticism, and family-friendly natures.

We are proud to stand behind every foal we breed. Each horse is raised with care, respect, and plenty of hands-on attention, ensuring they develop into confident, well-mannered partners ready to excel in a variety of homes and disciplines.

Soundness & versatility – producing strong, correct horses that are equally at home on the trail, in the arena, in the show ring, or as cherished family companions.

Height & rideability – breeding with a focus on producing horses around 15hh, offering a versatile size that suits a wide range of riders while maintaining the substance and presence the breed is known for.

Located in Calliope, Queensland, on our third-generation family farm, every horse on our property is part of our family. We are committed to nurturing horses that not only showcase the best qualities of the Irish Cob but also become trusted riding partners for years to come.
